    8887889 Accountant II – 13-Week Contract | Irving, TX

    Sigma Inc. is seeking an experienced Accountant II to join our team on-site in Irving, TX. This is a 13-week contract opportunity with potential for extension.

    Position Overview

    The Accountant II plays a critical role in preparing and reviewing general ledger month-end journal entries for assigned functional accounting teams in compliance with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to evaluate the financial impact of journal entries across various accounting functions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare accurate and timely general ledger month-end journal entries.

    • Ensure all entries comply with US GAAP and company policies.

    • Attach and review appropriate supporting documentation for each entry.

    • Evaluate the appropriateness of journal entries, including GL accounts used and financial statement classifications.

    • Analyze the financial impact of journal entries and clearly communicate results.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting.

    • Support internal audits and compliance initiatives.

    • Prepaid Asset, Deferred Revenue & Notes Payable Accounting

    • Physician Guarantees & Physician Fees Accounting

    • Purchased Services & Non-Patient AR Accounting

    • Contract Labor & Utilities Accounting

    • Joint Venture Accounting

    • Intercompany Accounting, Allocations & Eliminations

    • Lease Accounting

    • Technical Accounting

    • Health Plan Accounting

    • Physician Group Accounting

    • Grant Accounting

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).

    • 2+ years of accounting experience, including general ledger and healthcare accounting.

    • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting principles.

    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
