Accountant II

Russell Tobin is partnering with a biotech company to identify an Accountant II in Waltham, MA

Pay Rate Range: $25-$28/hr. on W2 (depending on experience)

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting activities for multiple global legal entities, including A/R, A/P, prepaid, accruals, intercompany, fixed assets, leases, commissions, and deferred revenue.
• Coordinate month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement reviews, and adjustments.
• Support ASC 606 revenue recognition for complex software, SaaS, and professional services arrangements.
• Assist with NetSuite integration of newly acquired businesses, including system and process changes.
• Oversee A/R activities and support collections.
• Perform monthly/quarterly SOX control testing and prepare financial and revenue reports.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606.
• Experience with Software/SaaS and Professional Services revenue recognition.
• Proficiency in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel.
• Understanding of SOX controls in a public-company environment.
• Big 4 experience preferred.
