Accountant III
Location: Milpitas, CA (Hybrid – Onsite Mon/Wed/Thurs, Remote Tues/Fri) Duration: 12-month contract (potential to extend to ~15 months and/or convert) Pay:$50-55/HR Overview Our client, a global leader in data storage solutions, is seeking an experienced Accountant III to support a high-visibility special project within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role will focus on cost accounting, ERP system support, and core accounting functions, while partnering cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
Maintain and analyze standard costs, bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and manufacturing assumptions
Perform inventory valuation and cost variance analysis; investigate and resolve discrepancies
Support ERP system implementation, including data preparation, validation, testing, and documentation
Backfill subject matter expert (SME) responsibilities such as standard cost updates, OCOGS reporting, and inventory reconciliations
Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data and reporting
Complete ad hoc projects and assignments as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
3–5 years of experience in cost accounting or manufacturing accounting
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles
Hands-on ERP experience related to product costing (Oracle and/or SAP)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
