Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (or equivalent accounting experience).
3-5 years of progressive accounting and/or auditing experience.
3+ years of PeopleSoft experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP.
Strong understanding of GAAS.
Experience with account reconciliations and financial analysis.
Experience preparing journal entries.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Responsibilities:
Lead and track grant/project reconciliation activities through completion.
Perform detailed audits of historical financial transactions and project activities.
Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
Prepare and process journal entries.
Process revenue transactions in PeopleSoft.
Reconcile grants and projects for closure.
Review Notice of Awards (NOA) and grant requirements.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and GAAS standards.
Maintain project status reports and reconciliation trackers.
Coordinate with finance teams to resolve complex accounting issues.
Request and validate project closures upon completion.
Support financial reporting and audit readiness activities.
Client is seeking an Accountant to support a large-scale financial cleanup initiative involving aged grants and projects. The selected candidate will lead reconciliation efforts, maintain project status tracking, perform audits of historical financial activities, process journal entries, and coordinate project closures within PeopleSoft and Euna Financial & Grants systems.
This role requires strong accounting, auditing, grant management, and governmental accounting experience with the ability to work independently while collaborating across finance teams.
