Accountant

Position PurposeWe are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Full-Time Accountant to support daily accounting operations for First Pioneers Federal Credit Union based out of our main branch in Lafayette . This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, balancing general ledger and subsidiary accounts, reconciling cash accounts, and preparing accounting reports. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple accounting functions efficiently.Job ResponsibilitiesPrepare, process, and file all accounts payable; research and resolve discrepanciesPrepare and post daily and monthly general ledger transactions, including investment activityAnalyze and reconcile general ledger accountsPrepare summary journal vouchers and verify accuracy and proper authorizationMaintain and reconcile subsidiary records for accrued investment incomePost investment interest and related transactionsMonitor and review daily cash balancesResearch and resolve open items, cash imbalances, and variancesMaintain prepaid expenses and fixed assets, including depreciation schedulesPrepare intercompany elimination entriesProcess ACH and NSF exceptions on a daily basisReconcile bank statements and related accountsAssist with preparing accounting reports as requested#J-18808-Ljbffr
