Description
JSG is seeking a Plant Accountant who will be responsible for core plant accounting, cost accounting, inventory management, and fixed asset activities.
Salary range: $90K-$110K DOE

SKILLS:
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment is required.
- Strong cost accounting experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems; experience with SAP and OneStream.
- Proven experience in cost accounting, inventory management, cycle counts, and manufacturing variance analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to present data and translate results into actionable insights.
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a demonstrated ability to challenge processes and drive efficiency.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for the plant, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and key performance indicator (KPI) reporting.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial results, providing clear and actionable insights on variance drivers against the forecast
- Track financial trends, assess risks and opportunities, and support action plans to improve plant financial performance.
- Maintain and manage standard cost systems, including product costing, bills of materials (BOMs), routings, labor rates, and overhead rates.
- Lead the annual cost roll process and ensure accurate implementation of new cost standards.
- Perform standard versus actual cost analysis and margin analysis
- Own and administer inventory management processes, including cycle count programs and physical inventory counts.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of inventory transactions and reconciliations.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions in collaboration with Production and Supply Chain.
- Manage fixed asset accounting for the plant, including asset capitalization, depreciation, retirements, transfers, and asset reconciliations.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure compliance with company capitalization policies.
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, applicable accounting standards, and Sarbanes?Oxley (SOX) requirements.
- Support internal and external audits, identify control deficiencies, develop remediation plans, and track corrective actions to completion.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant and progressive finance/accounting experience.
