Our organization is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Permanent Accountant to join our team. This role is an exceptional opportunity for someone with a passion for non-profit work to apply their skills in a meaningful way. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a crucial role in our organization's financial management, including the execution and coordination of all accounting activities. We are looking for a professional who is comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and who is committed to our mission.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries and bank reconciliation in accordance with GAAP.

2. Prepare financial statements, reports, memos, invoices and other documents.

3. Handle monthly and annual close process.

4. Ensure compliance with all internal processes.

5. Oversee accounting activities for the accuracy and completeness of all financial data.

6. Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

7. Assist with preparation for annual audits.

8. Liaise with external auditors and manage financial audits.

9. Provide support to the finance team during budgeting and financial planning process.

10. Ad-hoc projects as required.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.

2. CPA or progress towards obtaining CPA certification is a plus.

3. Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a non-profit or church environment.

4. Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.

5. Thorough knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting.

6. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

7. Strong ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.

8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

9. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

11. Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
