A mission-driven, nonprofit organization located on a scenic campus in the Philadelphia suburbs is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Staff or Senior Accountant. This community-oriented employer provides comprehensive care and residential living services to individuals across multiple levels of need, from independent living to skilled nursing. The business office plays a key role in supporting the financial integrity and long-term sustainability of the organization.
Position Overview:
This full-time accounting role will contribute to monthly close processes, financial analysis, and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting principles, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly bank and general ledger account reconciliations across multiple entities
- Prepare and post journal entries to support the month-end close
- Record deposits and payments accurately and timely
- Generate financial reports and internal analyses to support leadership decisions
- Assist with budgeting efforts, including labor, operating, and capital budgets
- Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits
- Collaborate with other departments to improve processes and ensure financial accuracy
- Step in to support various business office functions as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs required)
- Experience with general ledger and accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated, organized, and collaborative
