Requirements
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented
and analytical Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations
and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information. The ideal
candidate will be responsible for payroll processing, reconciliations,
budgeting, tax management, financial reporting, and compliance-related
activities.
This role requires strong
organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple
accounting functions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the integrity of financial records by
accurately recording, verifying, reconciling, and processing transactions.
- Process monthly payroll and manage banking
activities, including reconciliations and discrepancy resolution.
- Manage sales tax processes, including tax code
maintenance in Avalara, exemption certificates, filings, payments, and
reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial forecasts using actual
results and provide variance analysis with supporting documentation.
- Coordinate and support the annual budgeting process
and related schedules.
- Prepare and distribute daily sales reports and
financial updates.
- Oversee related-party invoicing and commission
calculations.
- Manage annual Secretary of State filings and ensure
ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate annual insurance renewal activities,
including applications, liability certificates, budgeting,
reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Track and maintain approved project budgets,
ensuring updates and adjustments are properly documented.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and
organizational information.
- Support additional accounting and finance
responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or
related field.
- Proven experience in accounting, financial
reporting, or corporate finance functions.
- Strong understanding of reconciliations, budgeting,
payroll processing, and financial analysis.
- Experience with sales tax processes and accounting
systems/software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting
applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and
problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to
maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Avalara or similar tax
management platforms.
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and variance
analysis.
- Experience handling compliance filings and
insurance coordination processes.
