Immediate opening for an Accountant in Temecula, CA who possesses: 
  • 3-5 years of experience as an Accountant – winery experience preferred
  • Experience with Financial reporting, creation of financial statements, general ledger and reconciliation, maintain fixed assets module, tax coordination, cash management
  • Transactional exp, a/p, a/r, payroll and POS experience

FULL DESCRIPTION: 
 
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
  • Financial Reporting: Direct the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. Ensure all financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) are prepared in accordance with GAAP standards.
  • General Ledger & Reconciliation: Review and approve all journal entries and account reconciliations. Ensure that all intercompany transactions and eliminations are handled accurately. Reconciling daily sales transactions with retail POS and accounting systems, coding and resolving issues.
  • Maintain fixed assets module and depreciation schedules.
  • Internal Controls: Establish and enforce a rigorous set of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Tax Coordination: Coordinate with tax professionals to ensure timely and accurate filing of all local, state, and federal taxes. File sales & use tax returns, compliance reports, and maintain Out-of-State DTC Permits.
  • Cash Management: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions to ensure optimized cash flow and vendor relationships. Maintain vendor files and resolve issues.
  • Insurance compliance: Oversee renewal of insurance, filling of workman's compensation.
  • Accounts payable processing, coding, and reconciliations of company credit card accounts.
  • Responsible for monitoring and updating inventory status.
  • Responsible for capturing and calculating the processing cost from harvesting of grapes to finished case goods.
  • Make recommendations for improving organization's accounting operations.
  • Engage in special projects, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Able to perform accounting functions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and in compliance with guidelines.
  • Advanced knowledge of a variety of office practices and procedures, use of office equipment, including 10-key calculator, MS Office software, and QuickBooks accounting software.
  • Meet all required standards of confidentiality and safety.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a management or supervisory capacity.
 
Salary Range: $75-90k/year
