The Accountant performs mid-level to complex accounting functions in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and statutory requirements. This role participates in monthly close activities and prepares internal and external reports.
Responsibilities
Prepare and post moderately complex journal entries.
Generate internal financial performance reports and narratives, create ad hoc reports, and validate data output.
Perform account reconciliations and analyze variances, including key drivers and trends.
Process and report transactions in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Participate in month-end and year-end close processes.
Participate in special projects within the division and with cross-functional teams.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, research alternatives, and propose recommendations to management.
Identify and research problems and proactively propose solutions.
Assist with internal and external audit requirements.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor s degree in Accounting.
At least two years of relevant accounting experience.
Preferred: Four years of accounting experience, with a track record of leading projects and collaborating with multiple departments.
Skill
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Oracle Financial or other ERP software.
Ability to coordinate work and communicate effectively across functions and organizational levels.
Strong critical-thinking and analytical skills.
Summary Qualification
Bachelor s degree in Accounting.
Two or more years of accounting experience.
Knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements.
Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
Experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
Preferred experience leading projects and collaborating across departments.
