Required immediately, our Winnipeg Branch is seeking a Full-Time Accountant for our US Operations to join the team.
 
FLOFORM Countertops is a Canadian company with its head office in Winnipeg, MB and has 16 branches and 5 manufacturing facilities located in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. POSITION SUMMARY:
Working with a high degree of independence, the Accountant – U.S. Operations applies accounting principles, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities to support the Company's U.S. operations. This role works closely with operational departments and accounting team members to ensure timely and accurate financial information while identifying opportunities for process improvements and enhanced internal controls.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • CPA designation preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics GP considered an asset
  • Strong organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Manufacturing, inventory, job costing, or WIP experience considered an asset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, allocations, interest, intercompany, and recurring entries
    • Complete monthly bank reconciliations and cash account analysis
    •  Reconcile corporate credit card accounts and ensure transactions are properly coded and   recorded
    •  Maintain fixed asset records, prepare depreciation schedules, and record related journal   entries
    • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and supporting working papers for assigned accounts
    •  Ensure all balance sheet accounts are fully substantiated and supported in accordance with   month-end close requirements
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between general ledger accounts and subsidiary     ledgers
    •  Extract, compile, and analyze data from multiple systems to prepare recurring reports 
    • Assist with inventory, job costing, WIP, and operational reporting analysis
    • Analyze account balances and investigate unusual trends, variances, and transactions
    • Support audit requests and provide supporting documentation
    • Identify process improvement opportunities
    • Meet established month-end close deadlines
    • Other duties of a similar nature as required
