Job Details
Accounting Administrator
Location:*Annapolis, MD
Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Pay:** $25–$27/hour
About the Opportunity
A well-established organization is seeking an Accounting Administrator to support day-to-day accounting and administrative functions for a large-scale operation. This role is ideal for someone with foundational accounting experience who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with financial records, customers, and vendors.
Responsibilities
* Sort and organize financial documents and post debits and credits to the appropriate accounts.
* Verify amounts, account codes, and supporting documentation for accuracy.
* Balance accounting entries and make necessary corrections.
* Maintain and update financial records, journals, logs, and related documentation.
* Review and reconcile basic bank statements and departmental records.
* Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
* Coordinate account-related information and documentation with internal teams, customers, and vendors.
* Identify discrepancies and assist with resolving accounting or recordkeeping issues.
* Perform basic accounting calculations and data analysis.
* Support additional accounting and administrative projects as assigned.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED required.
* 1+ year of accounting, bookkeeping, administrative, or closely related experience.
* Basic understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial data.
* Ability to evaluate, organize, prioritize, and categorize information.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Professional and effective interpersonal skills when working with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
* Strong time management and prioritization skills.
* Self-motivated, proactive, dependable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
* Ability to handle time-sensitive tasks while maintaining accuracy.
Compensation & Benefits
* $25–$27/hour
* Monday–Friday schedule
