The incumbent manages staff with a high degree of analytical ability to resolve complex accounting issues, perform research and recommend, develop and implement solutions. Responsibilities include preparing, reviewing and analyzing financial statements, reconciliations, and cash flow reports to ensure accuracy. In this role the incumbent must actively participate in system implementations, process improvements, and automation projects to increase efficiency; work collaboratively with FSB staff, administrative branches and CDFA divisions, managing change effectively while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

As an employee of the California Department of Food & Agriculture (CDFA), you are required to perform the "essential functions" of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. If you are interested in becoming part of a diverse and inclusive workforce where talent, experience, and expertise are valued, then CDFA is the place for you!!

This CDFA work location is near restaurants, coffee shops, and a farmer's market. We are within walking distance to light rail/public transportation, across the street from beautiful Capitol Park, and two miles from Downtown Commons (DOCO).

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. The CDFA does not participate in E-Verify for employment authorization purposes.

You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement.

Working Conditions

The incumbent works in an office setting with cubicle workstations that are in close proximity to other FSB staff; equipped with a phone, computer, and printer. There are three photocopiers and fax machine available. Files with shelves are located throughout the FSB. The maximum height of the files is approximately six feet. Infrequent travel throughout the State may be required to attend training, meetings, and conferences. Regular or recurring telework may occur as part of the incumbent's ongoing regular schedule in accordance with CDFA's Telework Policy. Specific telework schedules may be discussed further during the interview process. Staff will be assigned either a mini desktop or a laptop computer with email and various software and a cell phone to conduct the required duties. Once telework is assigned, staff will be assigned needed equipment for telework (monitor(s), keyboard, and mouse).

This position may/may not be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the CDFA and based on the current telework policy. While the CDFA supports telework where possible, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs.
