TYPE: On-CampusREPORTS TO: Regional Student Accounts ManagerPURPOSE The Accounting Department is central to the fiscal performance of the Campus and is responsible for maintaining the overall health of all student accounts. The Accounting Advisor ensures all student accounts are up-to-date, students remain in good financial standing, and transactions are correctly recorded. The role collaborates with Financial Aid and Admissions on current and new student accounts and reports overall financial performance to the Campus Director.Job Title Accounting AdvisorStatus Non-Exempt/HourlyType On-CampusOverall Job Responsibilities Maintain the accuracy of each individual student's accountPost quarterly tuition and fees in SIS for every studentCollect and process the Registration Fee for all incoming studentsCreate, review, and update monthly payment plans for current and new studentsPost student's private payments in SISProcess payment reminders and delinquency noticesPost late fees for student late paymentsProcess accounting holds (placing students on academic hold for delinquent payments)Coordinate accounting holds with IT departmentMonitor all past due payments and follow-up with current/previous students for collections via phone calls, text messages and emailsReview, audit, and prepare delinquent accounts to submit to designated collection agencies before referring account to Corporate OfficeProcess requests for living expenses, and credit balancesTimely response and meetings for student questions and concernsAccounting financial clearance for externship students and graduatesProcess bank depositsAdhere to all State and Accrediting Agencies regulationsAdditional duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager and/or Campus DirectorOverall Education/Qualifications/Competencies A minimum of two years progressive administrative experienceA minimum of one year accounting and/or collections experienceMust have strong technical and analytical skills to successfully navigate numerous computer applications, internet research, and database managementThe ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines through strong time management skillsMust be able to work well under pressure while staying organized and can work flexible schedules as business needs dictateAbility to maintain the highly confidential nature of working with financial informationEssential qualities: positive attitude, strong desire to help others, self-driven nature, confidence, and results-orientedBe able to effectively collaborate with other team members to meet daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly campus objectivesOther necessary character traits include being a team player and having the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written,Always behave in a professional manner in way of appearance, demeanor, and attitudeConsistently display the highest levels of integrity in all that is donePhysical Requirements / Working Conditions Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of timeCan independently move objects up to 25 lbs.Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, other office machinery, and perform repetitive motionsMust have sufficient hearing and speaking ability to communicate in person or on the phone/computer with othersMust be able to occasionally function in activities that include walking, bending, squatting, and reachingCulture of Care AboutCulture of Care is our commitment to create a supportive environment in which every student can achieve their educational and career goals.
