- Analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analyses.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns, audits, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., GAAP and IRS guidelines).
- Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, general ledger entries, and intercompany transactions.
- Develop and maintain financial models using tools like Excel or accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights for business decisions, such as pricing strategies or investment evaluations.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to financial operations.
- Support internal audits and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Handle ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned by management.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- 2-5 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis, preferably in a corporate or public accounting setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and familiarity with accounting software.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of California-specific tax and labor laws is advantageous.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, given the diverse community in Merced.
