For over 70 years, Light of Life Rescue Mission has been a safe refuge for homeless and hurting people in the Pittsburgh area. The organization is currently seeking a full-time Accounting Analyst to assist the Controller with managing the accounting and financial aspects of the organization and account for all financial transactions adhering to GAAP standards and Light of Life's internal control policies and procedures. This is a fast-paced environment; the position requires extreme attention to detail and a high level of organizational skills.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform accounts payable functions for various Light of Life Ministry entities including Off the Floor (OTF), L2 Community Support (L2), and others as needed.
  2. Prepare and distribute partner/customer invoices for OTF and other entities as needed.
  3. Receive, deposit, and record invoice payments and other check/cash receipts for OTF and other entities as needed.
  4. Liasion with OTF and other entities to ensure accurate accounting and invoicing.
  5. Prepare and record monthly journal entries for L2, OTF, and other entities as needed.
  6. Distribute client benevolence/internship payments and maintain related petty cash accounts.
  7. Assist with monthly reconciliation of bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  8. Oversee set up and maintenance of and support for purchase request system.
  9. Assist with accounting of fixed asset and depreciation.
  10. Work as an integral member of Finance team.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related major required
  • Minimum of 3 years Accounting experience
  • Non-profit experience desirable
  • Proficiency in accounting software platforms and financial systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
