Job SummaryThe Accounting and Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll and performing various accounting duties.Essential FunctionsProcess bi-weekly payroll for approximately 200 employeesMaintain automated time and attendance and payroll recordsReview and verify data accuracy and source documents to ensure timely and accurate timesheet submissions, maintain source documentationMonitor and resolve employee payroll questions in a confidential manner Assist with federal and state filing requirements including W-2s and 1099sIdentify and suggest process improvement changes to enhance the overall payroll processProcess Accounts PayableProcess Accounts Receivable and cash receipts and monitor agingAssist with other projects and duties as assigned in the normal course of business Assist with the external financial audit Additional Responsibilities CARF: Ensures documentation and compliance with CARF Standards.Safety: Maintains applicable safety standards, rules, and regulations in areas of responsibility.Outcome Driven: Have S.M.A.R.T objectives to drive performance and improve Goodwill's value to the community.Stakeholder Focused: Work with integrity and provide exemplary customer services to internal and external stakeholders.Accountability: Have key metrics that drive performance taking a leadership role in maximizing the social and financial return of the community resources invested in Goodwill.Financial Stability: Utilize the resources of the organization in an efficient and effective manner.Strategic Visioning: Commitment to innovation, continuous learning, and leading change in creating community value.Professionalism: Demonstrate a genuine interest in serving the needs of others and a positive attitude toward the community, co-workers, and individuals we serve. Represents the organization to the public with a courteous, helpful and business-like attitude.QualificationsMust have 2+ years of payroll processing experience and general bookkeeping experience Preference to in-house payroll experienceKnowledge of payroll related regulatory standardsBasic accounting knowledge of balance sheet, profit loss, chart of accountsExcellent problem resolution with strong attention to detail Organizational and planning skillsMust be able to work independentlyMust be able to bend, stretch, reach and lift to 20 pounds, walking or standing to a significant degreeDemonstrate a genuine interest in serving the needs of others and a positive attitude toward the community, co-workers, and individuals we serve
