Description

Accounting Assistant - Summary

The Accounting Assistant supports daily financial operations by performing a variety of administrative and clerical accounting tasks. This role works closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate reporting, maintain organized financial records, and support key processes such as payables, receivables, and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoices, payments, and collections
  • Monitor AR aging, send customer statements, and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Respond to vendor and customer inquiries related to billing and payments
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with expense reports, reimbursements, and commission tracking
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries
  • Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate financial documentation
  • Provide general administrative and project support to the accounting team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Prior accounting or finance experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP)
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work both independently and within a team
