Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic team in Minneapolis, MN, 55414. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our accounting department by managing daily accounts receivable, weekly/bi-weekly payroll, and other financial tasks ensuring accurate record-keeping. Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and processing of invoices and payments.
  • Create monthly statements and distribute to customers.
  • Investigate debit memos taken by customers.
  • Works with Quality and Sales to create credits for RMA's.
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors and clients regarding billing and payments.
  • Runs aging reports frequently and makes necessary collection calls.
  • Assists with customer onboarding collecting ST-3's, W-9's and credit applications.
  • Payroll processing on a weekly/bi-weekly basis and related tasks.
  • Generates and posts G/L payroll entries on a monthly basis.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes.
  • Assists the Accounting/HR departments with various special projects.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an accounting assistant or in a similar role with two - four years experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with UKG payroll software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to work with confidential information.
