Position Overview

Our client, located in Essex County, NJ is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounting Assistant to support accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone looking for a flexible, part-time schedule while contributing to key financial processes in a collaborative office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and send weekly client invoices.
  • Perform weekly cash reconciliations.
  • Send collection notices and follow up with clients on past-due balances.
  • Process and manage accounts payable vendor bills.
  • Maintain accurate financial records within QuickBooks.
  • Provide general accounting and administrative support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience using QuickBooks required.
  • Experience with invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reconciliations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working independently in a small office setting.
  • Strong communication skills for client collections follow-up.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • 2–3 days per week in the office (flexible scheduling Monday–Thursday).
  • Office operates remotely on Fridays.
  • Start time flexible between 9:00–9:30 AM.
  • End time flexible between 5:00–5:30 PM.
  • Employer willing to accommodate preferred in-office days.
