The role is based at our office in Austin, TX and reports to the Accounting Manager plus will work with a collaborative team of professionals. Candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, have excellent organizational skills, strong accounts payable and receivable experience and be a great communicator, both written and verbal.
This position will focus on a multitude of accounting related items. Including, responsible for account entries, payments and finances for the company. Handling and recording internal financial transactions. This position is a great fit for someone who has done bookkeeping/full cycle accounting for a small-business and wants to grow and learn more.
Essential functions include:
- Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Invoicing, cash applications and customer collection calls/emails
- Corporate expense Reporting and/or Corporate Credit card Experience
- Reconcile employee store bank accounts monthly
- Analyze current procedures and recommend changes to develop and implement best practice accounting procedures
- Assist the accounting leadership with audits and other accounting functions
- Other duties as assigned (the right candidate must be willing to roll up their sleeves and work on any duties assigned)
Qualifications/Basic job requirements include:
- 2-3 years' experience in an Accounts payable/receivable or Accounting Tech role
- Must have experienced in accounts receivable and Accounts payable
- Attention to detail and organization skills a must
- Great at understanding a process, but also really eager to create processes where they don't currently exist
- Ability and willingness to keep and maintain confidentiality
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to multi-task/prioritize tasks and work in a fast paced and high stress environment
- Team player, self-starter, and professional
- Ability to work overtime during seasonal months
- Strong excel and MS products
- Fundamental knowledge of accounting principles
- Strong Excel Skills-VLOOKUPS/PIVOT Tables
Skills/Qualifications that are not required but a bonus:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
- Retail accounting experience is a plus
- Multi-company GL experience preferred
- Experience with AP/AR month-end reporting/analysis
- Experience dealing with Credit Card Processors
- Experience analyzing month-to-month expense fluctuations/cost accounting
- Experience in Ramp/similar expense tracking software's a plus
- Experience in Sage Accounting software
- Experience with SQL reporting
