Role Summary:

The Accounting Associate supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the company by performing transactional accounting activities, assisting with month-end close, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with sales and use tax requirements. The position works closely with operations and finance personnel to support accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, and other routine accounting functions that contribute to accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and dependable, enjoys consistent responsibilities, takes pride in accurate work, and is interested in developing accounting skills over time while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Accountable for:

  • Accuracy and completeness of assigned accounting transactions including but not limited to- fixed assets, surveys, rebate tracking/tooling amortizations
  • Timely completion of sales and use tax filings, and assisting with exemption certificates.
  • Timely completion of month-end close responsibilities and any assigned year-end compliance responsibilities.
  • Accuracy of account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Accuracy of accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting records.
  • Compliance with company policies, internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Professional communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintenance of organized accounting documentation and audit support files.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate''s degree in accounting or a related
  • At least one year of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related financial experience; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data entry, sorting, filtering and basic formulas.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism

Desired Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
  • Manufacturing accounting experience.
  • Experience preparing or assisting with sales and use tax filings.
  • Experience supporting month-end close activities.
  • Familiarity with Sage Intacct.
