We are seeking a detail-oriented
Accounting Associate to support our accounting and payroll operations. This role is ideal for someone with experience in accounts payable, payroll, and bookkeeping who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and contributing to the financial success of a growing organization.
The Accounting Associate will work closely with the Controller and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, managing vendor accounts, and ensuring timely payments. Experience with certified payroll is highly preferred.
ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable
- Enter and match vendor invoices accurately in Microsoft Business Central.
- Process weekly check and ACH payment runs.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and account issues.
- Maintain vendor files, collect W-9 forms, and assist with annual 1099 reporting.
Payroll & Certified Payroll
- Review and process employee time records.
- Support weekly and biweekly payroll processing.
- Prepare, manage, and submit certified payroll reports for applicable projects.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
Accounting & Financial Support
- Reconcile company credit card transactions and employee expense reports.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including journal entries and accruals.
- Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
- Support internal audits and financial reporting requests.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
QualificationsRequired
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable, payroll, bookkeeping, or accounting support.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and general ledger functions.
- Experience with certified payroll requirements and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, filtering, and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Experience working in construction, manufacturing, or similar industries.
- Familiarity with certified payroll software such as LCPtracker, eMars, or related systems.
- Experience using SharePoint or other digital document management platforms.
