Arkansas Talent Group is partnering with an Arkansas-based community bank to find their next Accounting Associatein Little Rock, AR. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced accounting and finance professionals while gaining exposure to a broad range of banking and accounting functions.

Unlike highly specialized accounting roles in larger organizations, this role provides visibility into the full financial operations of a community bank — including loans, deposits, payment systems, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The position is designed to support both experienced accounting professionals and individuals looking to build a long-term career in bank accounting, finance, or financial management.

The client is open to candidates ranging from recent graduates to experienced accounting clerks.

Duties will include:

  • Process invoices and support accounts payable activities
  • Assist with corporate credit card administration, reconciliations, and expense tracking
  • Support wire processing and other banking transaction activities
  • Perform daily and monthly account reconciliations
  • Assist with journal entries and general ledger maintenance
  • Support balancing and settlement activities related to deposits, loans, and payment systems
  • Research and resolve reconciling items and discrepancies
  • Assist with month-end close processes and financial reporting support
  • Support audit preparation and regulatory examination requests
  • Collaborate with operations and lending teams to better understand transaction activity and banking operations
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and departmental projects
  • Take on additional responsibilities and cross-functional exposure as skills and experience develop over time

Ideal candidate will possess:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
  • Prior accounting, bookkeeping, banking, or related experience preferred but not required
  • Recent graduates with strong accounting aptitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic Microsoft Excel and computer proficiency
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new concepts and processes
