Arkansas Talent Group is partnering with an Arkansas-based community bank to find their next Accounting Associatein Little Rock, AR. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced accounting and finance professionals while gaining exposure to a broad range of banking and accounting functions.
Unlike highly specialized accounting roles in larger organizations, this role provides visibility into the full financial operations of a community bank — including loans, deposits, payment systems, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The position is designed to support both experienced accounting professionals and individuals looking to build a long-term career in bank accounting, finance, or financial management.
The client is open to candidates ranging from recent graduates to experienced accounting clerks.

Duties will include:
- Process invoices and support accounts payable activities
- Assist with corporate credit card administration, reconciliations, and expense tracking
- Support wire processing and other banking transaction activities
- Perform daily and monthly account reconciliations
- Assist with journal entries and general ledger maintenance
- Support balancing and settlement activities related to deposits, loans, and payment systems
- Research and resolve reconciling items and discrepancies
- Assist with month-end close processes and financial reporting support
- Support audit preparation and regulatory examination requests
- Collaborate with operations and lending teams to better understand transaction activity and banking operations
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and departmental projects
- Take on additional responsibilities and cross-functional exposure as skills and experience develop over time
Ideal candidate will possess:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
- Prior accounting, bookkeeping, banking, or related experience preferred but not required
- Recent graduates with strong accounting aptitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic Microsoft Excel and computer proficiency
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new concepts and processes
