Position Overview:
The Accounting Clerk supports day-to-day transportation accounting and operational functions, including toll processing, permit management, driver deductions, escrow administration, and related financial tracking. This role is critical to maintaining accurate fleet cost allocation, regulatory compliance, and driver account integrity. The position is currently high-urgency due to limited internal coverage and requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage high-volume workloads with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Clerk:
  • Process and manage toll notices, violations, and transponder activity across fleet operations.
  • Research and resolve toll discrepancies using internal tracking systems and external toll portals.
  • Reconcile toll charges, credit card payments, and driver re-billing where applicable.
  • Manage oversize/overweight and operational permits (annual, per-load, and state requirements).
  • Maintain permit records and ensure compliance with active loads and regulatory requirements.
  • Support driver financial processes including deductions, settlements, and transaction reviews.
  • Assist with escrow account management, including balances, deductions, and final driver payouts.
  • Review driver terminations and ensure proper financial reconciliation and escrow release.
  • Maintain accurate records across multiple systems and operational platforms.
  • Download, organize, and manage documentation related to fleet and driver activity.
  • Ensure timely completion of daily tasks with minimal backlog accumulation.
Required Experience/Skills for the Accounting Clerk:
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in accounting, clerical, or administrative support.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume environments.
  • Ability to research and resolve discrepancies using multiple systems/tools.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven operations.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Outlook and Excel).
  • Ability to work with confidential financial and driver-related information
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounting Clerk:
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is highly preferred.
  • Experience in the transportation, trucking, or logistics industry.
  • Familiarity with systems such as McLeod, TruckMate, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with toll processing, permits, driver settlements, or escrow accounts.
  • Strong investigative and problem-solving skills in operational finance environments.
  • Experience working with drivers, Dispatch, or Operations teams.
Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Some college coursework in Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred.
Benefits:
  • Atrium Care Package available, upon eligibility (including healthcare plans, discount programs, and paid time off).
