Part-Time Accounting Clerk
Location: Cedar Knolls
Schedule: Part-Time | 25-30 Hours per Week
Pay Rate: $18-$20/hour

Position Overview
The Accounting Clerk will provide financial, administrative, and clerical support to the accounting team by ensuring invoices, purchase orders, and expense records are processed accurately and efficiently. This position is ideal for someone specifically seeking long-term part-time work and who enjoys working in an organized, team-oriented office environment.
This role has the potential to transition into a full-time opportunity based on business needs and performance.
Responsibilities
Process, verify, and reconcile invoices in accordance with company procedures.
Match purchase orders to invoices and enter invoice information into accounting systems.
Manage, scan, organize, and file purchase orders and accounting documents.
Maintain and file company credit card receipt records.
Perform filing in both numerical and alphabetical order.
Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoices and expense reports.
Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
Prepare and maintain accurate accounting documentation and records in accordance with retention policies.
Assist with general administrative and clerical duties as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information.
Qualifications
Associate degree preferred, but not required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable, Accounting Clerk, or Receptionist/Administrative environment preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and accounting software systems.
Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
Must be comfortable working a long-term part-time schedule of 25-30 hours per week, with potential for future full-time opportunities.
