We are seeking an experienced Accounting Consultant with a strong background in payroll processing and accounting support to join our client's team on a six-month contract basis. This role will assist with payroll administration, account reconciliations, reporting, and other accounting functions while supporting ongoing business needs. The ideal candidate will have intermediate Excel skills, solid attention to detail, and experience working in a fast-paced accounting environment.
Responsibilities
Process and review payroll accurately and timely for employees
Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies
Prepare payroll-related journal entries and account reconciliations
Assist with month-end close activities
Maintain employee payroll records and supporting documentation
Support compliance with payroll laws, regulations, and company policies
Generate payroll and accounting reports using Excel
Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and management teams on payroll matters
Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
3+ years of accounting experience
Experience processing payroll in a high volume environment, preferred
Intermediate Excel skills, including:
VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
Pivot Tables
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Preferred Experience
Experience with payroll software and ERP/accounting systems
Knowledge of payroll tax regulations and reporting
