A Brief Summary of This Position Reporting to the Director of Reporting and Administration Controllership, the role is responsible for creating, reviewing, and monitoring accounting performance reporting (both accounting and operational). The incumbent gathers data, prepares reports, charts, and diagrams to facilitate comparison and evaluation of accounting controls, and provides ad‑hoc reporting to support accounting metrics, controls monitoring, and benchmarking across sites. Additional duties include timely completion of the monthly book close process (POC revenue recognition data collection) and monitoring reporting controls.Essential Functions Reports directly to the Director of Reporting and Administration Controllership; has no direct or indirect reports.Travel up to 10% of the time, including domestic and international overnight stays.Assists the controllership group with data collection for reporting and monitoring purposes and acts as a liaison between controllership and information technology for $2B+ in sales.Develops and monitors process controls for key business risks to the financial statements and ensures compliance with Valmont, SEC, and other regulations.Translates business requirements into the design and development of data models and reports, ensuring data accuracy.Documents and assesses the effectiveness and efficiency of current reporting processes for automation opportunities.Assists with cost and inventory report generation for operations management (e.g., scorecard).Maintains training with current Valmont applications such as DataBricks, PowerBI, Visual Basic, Alteryx, and other tools used by the controllership group.Required Qualifications of Every Candidate Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related discipline and at least 3 years of relevant experience.Combined IT and business education.High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, advanced Excel, and Visual Basic, plus experience with automation tools used by the controllership group.Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all organizational levels.Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.Highly motivated and self‑directed, capable of working independently within a complex matrix organization.Ability to travel up to 10%, including overnight stays to Valmont domestic and international sites.Additional Qualifications Master's Degree in Accounting, Business, Information Technology, or a related discipline.At least 3 years of experience with DataBricks, PowerBI, Alteryx, and Visual Basic.Hands‑on experience transforming raw data into business reports.Experience in business analysis within a SEC‑publicly traded company.Working Environment and Physical Efforts Work is performed in an office setting. The incumbent is required to sit for extended periods, speak and listen on the phone and in meetings, and use hands for tasks such as handling, reaching, and operating a computer. The environment is fast‑paced and demanding. The employee may need to move around the office, lift or move up to 15 pounds, and must use proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and keyboard positioning.
