Job Description


Role Summary


The Accounting Intern supports the Corporate Accounting function in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial information. The role performs core accounting activities such as journal entry preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and audit support. The Accounting Intern ensures adherence to US GAAP, internal controls, and corporate accounting policies. The position works closely with Business Group (BG) Finance teams, Corporate functions, and external auditors.


The Internship is full time for the summer of 2026 with potential to stay on part time during the school year.


Key Responsibilities


Financial Close & Accounting Operations


Prepare journal entries and assist with month‑end and quarter‑end close activities.


Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts.


Perform variance analysis and investigate unusual movements.


Compliance & Controls


Support compliance with US GAAP, corporate accounting policies, and reporting requirements.


Execute SOX control activities such as documentation, testing support, and audit evidence preparation.


Identify potential control issues and escalate appropriately.


Audit Support


Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external and internal auditors.


Process Improvement & Systems


Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, standardization, or automation in accounting activities.


Support continuous improvement initiatives across the Corporate Accounting and Shared Service function.

Knowledge & Experience


Enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Accounting, Finance, or related field with a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher


Minimum completion of sophomore status in good standing


Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations


Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task


Problem-solving skills, assertiveness and strong initiative


Team-oriented thinking with enthusiasm for continuous learning


Participation in school or extracurricular activities and experience in leadership roles
