GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounting Intern supports the Accounting team by assisting with routine accounting tasks that help ensure accurate and timely financial records. Under close supervision, this role checks and verifies cost accounting and accounts payable records, prepares basic invoices and vouchers, posts ledger and journal entries, files documents, and assists with balancing accounts payable and receivable. The intern will use office-automated systems to input data, generate reports, conduct simple research, and respond to internal inquiries. This role may also help reconcile accounts and learn a specific phase of the accounting cycle.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Learn and apply basic accounting job skills while following company policies and procedures.
Perform routine, well defined assignments that require limited judgment.
Enter data into accounting systems, prepare routine reports, and maintain organized records.
Assist with posting ledger and general journal entries and processing invoices and vouchers.
Support balancing and reconciliation of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Conduct simple research and respond to internal inquiries using company systems.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and financial information.
Follow detailed instructions and work under close supervision.
Collaborate primarily with the immediate team, with limited external interaction.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Junior or Senior college student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
