Our client is a rapidly growing technology company operating in a fully remote environment with employees across multiple time zones globally. As the company continues to scale, they are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to support the finance organization, strengthen processes, and help build scalable accounting operations.

Position Overview

The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Director, Controller based in Southern California and oversee core accounting operations, month-end close, process improvements, and a globally distributed team, including offshore Accounts Payable resources in India and the Philippines.

 

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, evolving environment. While the company is fully remote, preference will be given to candidates located in the Pacific or Mountain time zones.

 

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Close
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting support
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Maintain and improve accounting controls and procedures
  • Partner with FP&A and leadership teams on reporting and analysis

Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Manage and mentor accounting staff and offshore AP team members
  • Coordinate workflows across multiple time zones
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance remote culture
  • Partner cross-functionally with HR, Operations, Legal, and external auditors

Process Improvement & Scalability
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes
  • Support ERP optimization and process documentation
  • Help build scalable accounting infrastructure to support company growth
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting operations

Compliance & Audit Support
  • Assist with audits, tax support, and compliance reporting
  • Maintain accurate financial records and strong internal controls

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
  • Experience in a high-growth technology or SaaS environment preferred
  • Experience managing remote and/or offshore teams
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and month-end close
  • Advanced ERP and Excel skills
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Located in the Pacific or Mountain time zones

Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar cloud ERP systems
  • Experience supporting multi-entity or international operations
  • Prior AP leadership experience
