Description

Compensation: $150,000 + Discretionary Bonus. Hybrid working model: fully remote since COVID, with plans to bring in office days in the future. Office located in Midtown. Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM.The role sits directly under the Controller.NetSuite is required.Outside of GL accounting and Periodic Close, this role focuses on AR workflow, with a heavy emphasis on contract alignment and U.S. GAAP (ASC 606) compliance.This company operates in data derived from Financial Services, Digital Advertising, Streaming Services (CTY), and more, and has a proprietary AI Data Platform.ResponsibilitiesMonthly Close and General LedgerOwn the month-end close processMaintain and reconcile general ledger accountsPrepare and review journal entriesIdentify and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerContract Review and Revenue RecognitionReview client contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatmentEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP and ASC 606Maintain documentation for revenue policies and contract interpretationsSupport monthly revenue close, including deferred, accrued, and revenue schedules and reconciliationsMaintain historical revenue records and ensure accuracy across prior period revenue activitySupport external audits by preparing schedules and documentationAccounts Receivable and CollectionsManage aging analysis, cash application, and collections processes end-to-endMonitor past-due balances and proactively engage clients to resolve outstanding paymentsOversee collections escalation paths and manage all related communicationsPartner with Sales, Account Management, and Legal to resolve billing disputes and/or contract-related mattersPrepare and send all client invoices based on internal reports, contract terms, and/or agreed-upon billing schedulesBenefits and CompensationIn addition to the base salary, the role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
