RESPONSIBILITIES:  Lead the month-end and quarter-end close process, including revenue recognition, review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Manage accounts payable function to ensure proper coding of vendor invoices and communications with external vendor partners.
  • Oversee application of ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition)
  • Manage and analyze project/study-level financials, ensuring proper alignment of revenue and expenses
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate cost allocation and revenue timing across multiple active studies
  • Support and lead aspects of the external audit process, including preparation of schedules and technical accounting documentation
  • Evaluate and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes to support scalability
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to staff and review team output
  • Contribute to systems and process improvements, including ERP optimization
  • Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements and internal reporting packages
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:                   
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA (active or in-progress) strongly preferred
  • Public accounting background highly preferred
  • 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Proven ownership of the close process and financial reporting
  • Experience working with external auditors
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong customer service skills.
  • Experience supervising staff and managing processes
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and to organize, instruct, and supervise staff while promoting group effort and achievement
  • Superb time management skills and detail orientation
  • Ability to manage conflicts and resolve problems effectively
