You will step into a vertically integrated real estate development and construction environment that combines architecture, manufacturing, and project delivery into a single streamlined model. The organization is rapidly expanding its construction pipeline, with multiple active projects and significant investment in scaling operations, which creates a high-impact environment for the Accounting Manager to shape financial processes and reporting. This Accounting Manager reports directly to the Controller and works closely with executive leadership, construction teams, and cross-functional stakeholders. Supported by an experienced Staff Accountant, you will also get a chance to build and scale a future-ready accounting function, bringing structure to multi-entity consolidations, cost accounting, and project-driven financial reporting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting across multiple entities and development projects

  • Oversee general ledger activity including journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, and reconciliations

  • Drive job cost accounting initiatives, tracking construction spend, budgets, and project lifecycle performance

  • Partner with operations and construction teams to support pay applications, cost tracking, and project forecasting

  • Develop and present financial reporting packages including budget versus actuals, KPIs, and executive-level insights

  • Manage cash flow planning, treasury activities, and capital allocations across projects and entities

  • Strengthen internal controls, improve accounting workflows, and introduce scalable processes and systems

  • Mentor and develop accounting staff while helping build team capabilities and future hiring strategies

  • Support multi-entity consolidation and financial modeling to guide strategic decision-making

  • Create structured reporting in Excel and ERP systems to support both internal leadership and external stakeholders

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Progressive experience in accounting or finance, ideally with exposure to construction, real estate, or environments heavy in cost accounting

  • Strong foundation in financial reporting, general ledger management, and multi-entity accounting concepts

  • Exposure to job cost accounting, project accounting, or cost analysis that supports operational decision making

  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to create clear, actionable reporting for both finance and non-finance audiences

  • Experience working in dynamic or high-growth environments where processes are evolving and require hands-on problem solving

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience, with a passion for mentoring and developing accounting professionals

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and accounting software such as Yardi or similar platforms is a strong advantage

  • CPA or public accounting background is welcomed and can accelerate career trajectory within the organization

  • A growth mindset with the ability to take ownership, build structure, and influence financial operations as an Accounting Manager
