The Accounting Manager will independently perform a variety of accounting assignments. This position requires the individual to be fully competent in all conventional phases of accounting and be capable of planning and conducting tasks requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard accounting techniques, procedures, and criteria. Works well with others and can assist in other accounting roles.

The work for this role will be performed in one of Austin's subsidiary offices known as Gala & Associates Inc.

  • Requires a 4-year degree in accounting and a minimum of 5 years' related experience
  • Must have strong attention to detail, can spot errors and can suggest ways to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • A Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel will be necessary to perform the functions of this position
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of accounting information systems and elevated level of computer skills

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Individuals with a CPA certification will be given preference

The successful candidate will perform the following:

  • Must understand Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of employee payroll processing
  • Monitor daily cash positions and manage banking relationships
  • Coordinate with HR and department managers to ensure proper payroll data, deductions, garnishments, and reporting
  • Prepare financial analyses and reports
  • Prepare budgets and forecasting
  • Identify cash flow risks and opportunities
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Prepares and reviews journal entries and supporting details
  • Assists with monthly/quarterly/annual close process and financial reporting
  • Maintains and reconciles general ledger accounts and verifies compliance with established policy and procedure
  • Understands and can assist with the preparation and submittals of billings to clients
  • Provide financial oversight for all active projects, including job costing and profitability reporting
  • Prepares and submits required documents to ensure compliance with governmental licensing jurisdictions
  • Train project managers and department leads to establish project budgets and monitor financial performance against targets
