Job Description

Accounting Manager (Manufacturing/Logistics/Distribution)Chesterfield-Position is Hybrid*$120-145k                                                                                                            The Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial data and reporting, developing and implementing accounting procedures, cost and process control, and compliance with accounting standards (GAAP) in a dynamic distribution business environment.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Key Responsibilities 
  • Manage month-end closing process for the company                                                           
  • Monitor financial performance and analyze variances to budget and prior periods
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and identify trends, opportunities, and risks
  • Complete regular balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of all balances including sufficient allowances for potential losses         
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain internal controls for both finance and operations                   
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate and timely recording of inventory transactions                                                                  
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable laws and regulations                               
  • Work with I/T to implement system upgrades and improvements                                         
  • Document all key accounting and finance processes and procedures                                 
  • Identify and facilitate mitigation of any financial risks associated with business operations       
  • Assist with regular physical inventory counts and periodic fixed asset counts                        
  • Complete ad hoc financial analysis as required                                                        
  • Liaison between company and CPA firm                                                                               
  • Liaison between company and insurance carriers (property and liability coverage)
  • Manage A/R and collections, A/P and payments, and inventory, and identify opportunities for working capital reduction
  • Facilitate and support internal and external audits                                                                                                                                           
   Qualifications
  • Experience with ERP systems (QuickBooks/Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Reporting to the company president, successful candidate will be highly organized and analytical with good communications and interpersonal skills                                                
  • Ability to identify opportunities for cost and process improvement                                        
  • Ability to work remotely and across business functions in an informal team environment    
  • Ability to embrace and manage change                                                                                 
  • B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance                                                                                    
  • 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience and 5+ years of accounting manager experience with manufacturing or distribution companies
