DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Accounting Manager oversees the organizations general ledger accounting function and is responsible for the following, including but not limited to:

  • Manage the monthly financial close process, including the preparation and initial review of internal financial statements, validation of accruals, account reconciliations, and gross profit analysis
  • Research, analyze, and document non-routine accounting transactions to ensure compliance
  • Drive the accuracy and efficiency of the financial close and revenue recognition processes by identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance controls, streamline workflows, and improve reporting quality
  • Analyze financial and operational results, identify key business drivers, and communicate insights and recommendations to senior leadership and operational teams
  • Coordinate with external auditors to support audit activities and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting
  • Support the treasury function of the organization through cash reconciliation, cash flow management, and daily banking processes
  • Partner with the FP&A team to support the annual budgeting and forecasting process
  • Lead and support finance initiatives, including system enhancements and process improvements that expand scalability and operational efficiency as the organization grows
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop team members by fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment focused on continuous learning and professional growth
  • Provide ongoing support to the Controller on strategic finance and accounting initiatives, special projects, and other responsibilities as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and internal controls, with a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting applications, with the ability to leverage technology to improve accounting processes and reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate, meaningful financial reports, forecasts, and business analyses
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; experience with Microsoft Access or other data analysis tools is preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing team members
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and leveraging technology to enhance accounting processes and operational efficiency

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA and relevant experience in public accounting preferred
  • Progressive leadership experience in accounting, financial reporting, and general ledger management
