Job Title: Accounting ManagerLocation: Embassy Suites by Hilton Baton RougeDepartment: FinanceReports To: General Manager Position SummaryThe Accounting Manager supports the financial operations of a 223-room full-service Hilton hotel, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with Hilton standards, and efficient day-to-day accounting functions. This role oversees accounting processes, internal controls, and team members while partnering with operational departments to drive financial performance and accountability.Key Responsibilities•* Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash handling procedures.• Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.•* Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.•* Monitor hotel revenues, expenses, and forecasts; provide analysis to support business decisions.•* Ensure compliance with Hilton brand standards, internal audit requirements, and local/state regulations.•* Supervise and develop accounting staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.•* Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard hotel assets.•* Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning processes.•* Collaborate with department heads to improve financial performance and cost controls.Qualifications•* Minimum 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or hotel environments.•* Prior supervisory or management experience required.•* Strong knowledge of hotel financial reporting practices.•* Experience with Hilton systems (e.g., PEP, R&I, Simphony).•* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.•* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.•* High level of integrity and attention to detail.Core Competencies•* Financial acumen and analytical thinking•* Leadership and team development•* Attention to detail and accuracy•* Effective communication and collaboration•* Time management and ability to meet deadlinesWork Environment & Physical Requirements•* Primarily office-based.•* Ability to work extended hours during month-end, audits, and peak business periods.Benefits•* Competitive salary and bonus eligibility•* Health, dental, and vision insurance•* 401(k) •* Hilton travel discounts•* Paid time off and holidays
