Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to provide immediate accounting leadership while the company searches for a permanent hire. This role combines day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities with higher-level accounting, project accounting, and financial reporting duties.

Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:

Accounting & Financial Operations

• 
  
• Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger activities
• 
  
• Process monthly operating and material bills while monitoring cash availability
• 
  
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end schedules
• 
  
• Review daily bank exceptions and assist with cash management
• 
  

Project Accounting

• 
  
• Prepare project billings, including AIA G702 and G703 pay applications
• 
  
• Partner with Project Managers to maintain accurate project financials
• 
  

Compliance & Contract Administration

• 
  
• Support payroll tax and payroll-related filings including 941, SUTA, and FUTA
• 
  
• Assist external CPA with annual financial statements and tax filings
• 
  
• Coordinate insurance-related requests and compliance documentation
• 
  

Qualifications of the Accounting Manager:

Required:

• 
  
• 3-5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• 
  
• Construction or project-based accounting experience
• 
  
• Experience with job costing and AIA billing
• 
  

Preferred:

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 
  
• QuickBooks experience
• 
  
• Construction contract administration experience
• 
  
• Experience supporting financial reporting and forecasting
•
