DESCRIPTION:
The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Controller in overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Full cycle GL accounting, journal entries
- Assist in the monthly preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
- Manage the monthly closing process, including the preparation of journal entries and supporting documentation, overseeing general ledger activities, and ensuring accurate account reconciliations
- Oversee project accounting, including tracking of capital & operating expenditures.
- Treasury duties such as Wire/ACH creation and positive pay clearing
- Ensure accurate accounting for royalties, leases, fixed assets (CIP), and long term debt obligations
- Assist in the implementations of software and systems, as necessary
REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelors Degree
- At least 5 to 10 years related experience in a variety of finance functions or equivalent
- Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant accounting standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Construction in Process (CIP) and fixed assets experience a plus
- Microsoft Dynamics NAV and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is a plus
- Oil and gas industry a plus
