Position Summary
Under the direction of the Senior Accounting Manager, the Manager of Accounting is responsible for accounting for business acquisitions under the guidance of ASC 805. This position will also assist with the monthly corporate close process as needed and will also identify and support the accounting for technical accounting matters such as leasing (ASC 842) and at times, revenue recognition (ASC 606). The ideal candidate has a public accounting/private company mix of experience, is comfortable in a hands-on leadership role, and thrives on problem solving rather than simply escalating issues. This individual will be a key partner to the Senior Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities
- Manage the accounting for acquisitions including working with the valuation team to derive the opening balance sheet of acquired entities, as well as working with the acquired sites to obtain relevant documentation to support the purchase price accounting.
- Assist the corporate general ledger accounting team with monthly close as needed.
- Prepare and/or review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Research and apply technical accounting guidance, with generally accepted accounting principles; particularly related to leases and other complex areas such as revenue.
- Support the annual financial audit by preparing schedules and serving as a point of contact with external auditors.
- Identify and resolve accounting issues independently, proposing solutions to leadership as needed.
- Collaborate with Operations, FP&A, and IT to support financial reporting and process improvement initiatives.
- Maintains financial policies and procedures and financial controls to assure compliance with company, state,
- and federal standards.
- Works with the company financial team to create internal controls and policies; follows all company policies and procedures.
- Initiates and supports department by suggesting and aiding with ideas and implementation of process or system improvements. Assist in establishing and maintaining accounting policies, SOPs, and internal controls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience and minimum 4 years of experience.
- Certified Public Accountant required.
- Prior management experience, ideally with direct oversight of staff.
- High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to research, analyze, and document positions under GAAP. ASC 805 and 842 experience are must haves.

Compensation: ranges from $115,000 to $162,000 depending on experience
Physical Demands: Occasionally lifting 25lbs. Position sits completing computer and phone work.
