Accounting Manager

Overview

We are seeking a highly technical and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations and ensure integrity in financial reporting. This role is ideal for a CPA professional who thrives in a hands-on environment, brings strong GAAP expertise, and enjoys driving process improvements while partnering closely with leadership. You'll play a key role in overseeing the close process, strengthening internal controls, and elevating the overall accounting function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, and oversight of AP, AR, and payroll functions

  • Own and drive the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness

  • Review and approve complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies; research and apply technical accounting guidance as needed

  • Analyze financial results, identify trends, and investigate variances to provide actionable insights to leadership

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve internal controls, policies, and procedures

  • Lead coordination of external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and direct interaction with auditors

  • Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial initiatives

  • Support ERP optimization, system implementations, and accounting process improvements

  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a high-performance and continuous improvement mindset

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (required)

  • CPA license required or strongly preferred

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting or a combination of public and industry experience

  • Strong technical accounting expertise, including deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP

  • Proven experience owning or leading the full close process

  • Experience reviewing work and developing junior to mid-level staff

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)

Pay Details: $150,000.00 to $170,000.00 per year
