TwentyThree North is partnering with a multi-unit restaurant organization on its Accounting Manager search. The role will oversee the month-end close process and support the accounting operations of this rapidly growing organization. This role will play a key part in ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting across multiple restaurant locations, while strengthening accounting processes, controls, and systems.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has experience managing accounting processes for high-volume, multi-entity operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute the monthly close process across multiple restaurant locations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals prepared by the accounting team.

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, identifying trends and variances.

  • Ensure accurate accounting for revenue, COGS, labor, inventory, and operating expenses.

  • Maintain and improve the close calendar and checklist to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Monitor and maintain internal controls over financial reporting.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline the close process and improve efficiency.

  • Supervise and mentor senior accountants and staff accountants responsible for daily accounting functions.

  • Review work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies.

  • Assist with year-end audit preparation, including schedules and supporting documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 5+ years of accounting experience

  • CPA licence preferred

  • Experience managing month-end close in a multi-entity environment

  • Restaurant, hospitality, retail, or multi-unit experience strongly preferred

  • Experience with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Restaurant365, or similar systems

  • Strong understanding of GAAP
