The Accounting Manager of Turning Point Church is responsible for the effective management and stewardship of all financial-related activities of the church. The following are some of the key duties of this role:
Responsible for the collection, counting and processing of all weekday and weekend donations, and ensuring all cash and check batches are appropriately coded and attributed to members through online management software.
Prepare and maintain all weekly bank deposits and donation check scans for record keeping, along with assisting members with the processing of any donation refunds or record corrections.
Work w/ church accounting partners to review and approve all weekly cash reports and invoices for payment prioritization.
Assist with all staff-issued credit card and debit cards and ensure weekly and monthly receipts are properly collected and coded each month for effective record keeping.
Provide weekly and monthly giving reports, detailed all campus giving as well as highlighting top givers as well as new/lapsed givers that may warrant the need for our pastors or care teams to follow-up with.
Track and explore ways in which new givers at Turning Point Church can receive encouragement and financial stewardship resources that will aid them in remaining faithful to their newly made commitment.
Responsible for preparing and communicating all monthly and annual financial statements for the Senior/Lead Pastor and Executive Team, as well as provide and/or present financial reports at board meetings as requested.
Oversee annual budgeting process and the distribution of departmental funding.
Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
Remain up-to-date on nonprofit audit best practices and state and federal law regarding nonprofit operations.
Requirements
Degree in finance/accounting or related (essential).
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (preferred).
3-5 years of work experience as a Finance Manager or Accounting Clerk (essential).
Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
Solid proficiency in Google, Microsoft Office, SAP, and other financial planning software.
