Overview:

Accounting Manager 

Compensation: $95,000 to $105,000 per year 

Location: In Office, Mesa, Arizona 85210

Reports to: Controller 

Background Required: Degreed Accountant, minimum 3 years expereince handling all accounting functions to month end close.  CPA preferred.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to join our accounting team. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciling accounts, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Analyze general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required schedules and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.
  • Assist with tax filings, sales tax reporting, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Improve accounting processes and recommend internal control enhancements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial reporting and special projects.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is preferred (or actively pursuing CPA).
  • 3-6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems (such as Great Plains or Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
