Accounting Manager

Overview Accounting Manager | VC-Backed Tech Firm | New York (Remote) ~$140k–$165k base (depending on experience)Join a venture-backed technology company building one of the most advanced platforms in the industry.The company is entering a critical scale phase, with rapid revenue growth, increasing operational complexity and its first external audit on the horizon. To support this next stage, the leadership team is hiring an Accounting Manager to own the core accounting function, strengthen controls and build scalable processes as the business grows.This is a high-impact opportunity for a technically strong, hands-on accounting leader who thrives in fast-growth environments and wants meaningful ownership, team exposure and a clear path toward Controller.The role will involve:Taking full ownership of the monthly, quarterly and year-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met with high levels of accuracy and controlReviewing and approving journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules prepared by the accounting teamOverseeing the preparation and presentation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAPManaging day-to-day accounting operations, including payroll, cash management, AP/AR and ERP system integrityDeveloping, documenting and enhancing accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to support scaleLeading the external audit process, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors and coordinating deliverablesAdvising on technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition, inventory and complex transactionsPartnering with operations, supply chain, FP&A and senior leadership to strengthen reporting, improve processes and ensure data accuracyContributing to budgeting and forecasting cycles, while identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvementsExperience required:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's a plus)5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a blend of Big 4/public accounting and high-growth industry exposurePrior experience in the technology sector (SaaS experience strongly preferred)Demonstrated experience managing, mentoring and developing junior accounting staffStrong technical expertise in US GAAP, including revenue recognition and complex transactionsProven ability to operate in a fast-paced, scaling environment with evolving processes and systemsTalentedge / Talentedge Exec are a leading finance & strategy recruiter for the tech and media startup & scale-up community across New York and London.#J-18808-Ljbffr
