Job Description:

Accounting Manager

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma (Onsite)

Employment Type: Permanent

Role Overview

An opportunity is available for an Accounting Manager to lead financial accounting functions for a prominent healthcare system and its affiliates. This role involves supervising the daily activities of the financial accounting staff and overseeing cash management, accounts payable, fixed assets, the general ledger, and budget functions. The position ensures adherence to generally accepted accounting principles and the accurate reporting and analysis of accounting data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting operations, including the preparation of journal entries, check requests, and bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Review monthly financial statements for multiple entities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness.
  • Participate in the budget process and coordinate general ledger interfaces to ensure proper posting and reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of the yearly audit, including preparing workpapers and assisting auditors.
  • Oversee the preparation of tax returns and related information for assigned entities.
  • Select, train, and evaluate a team of 10-15 accounting staff, organizing daily workflow and providing mentorship.
  • Maintain and evaluate accounting systems and procedures, implementing improvements as needed.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual capital budget and manage associated project, property, and equipment accounting.
  • Coordinate the annual physical inventory of fixed assets and validate month-end and year-end financial data.

Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelors degree in Accounting is required.

Experience: Supervisory experience is required. Candidates should have some exposure to healthcare finance. While 5 years of healthcare accounting experience is listed, candidates with less may be considered.

Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft 365, with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Strong reconciliation experience and the ability to work in a complex financial system are necessary. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary for this position is between $91,000 and $130,000. Relocation assistance may be available for eligible candidates.
