POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the month-end close, Sarbanes-Oxley and GAAP compliance, and other related general accounting practices. This is a hands-on position with direct responsibility for all of LENSAR's accounting and reporting requirements and assisting with operational and financial efficiency. This position supports timely completion of financial information, and has responsibility for reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, as well as proposing resolution and/or treatment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the management of accounting operations and month, quarter, and year end closes.
  • Manage the preparation of monthly/quarterly financial statements to support the company's public filings on Form 10-Q, 10-K and 8-K, management, and Board presentations.
  • Review financial statements, financial reporting package, and flux analysis for completeness and accuracy. Review account reconciliations for accuracy and completeness, maintaining GAAP compliance. Analyze general ledger variances for corrective accounting and/or operational improvements, efficiency, and accuracy. Perform technical accounting analyses as needed.
  • Manage and review the general ledger for accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage select team members in the accounting department, overseeing departmental functions and individual performance.
  • Review journal entries for accuracy, completeness, and support.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accruals, and fixed assets.
  • Review monthly/quarterly state Sales and Use Tax Returns; Manage Tangible Personal Property Tax Returns.
  • Review financial information to assist with completion of audits and tax returns.
  • Streamline repetitive and/or inefficient procedures and processes within the finance organization to yield more efficient and streamlined monthly closes.
  • Participate and support the maintenance of Sarbanes-Oxley internal control certification requirements. Monitor compliance with ICFR framework.
  • Support upgraded ERP implementation efforts.
  • Complete special projects as requested, particularly related to implementation of new processes and accounting policies.

Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting operations.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about the role of finance and accounting in supporting the company's strategy.
  • Experience in coordinating financial book closings, audits, and financial statement preparation.
  • Proven success working well under pressure, highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in an environment with continued process improvement and change.
  • Strong Emotional IQ and interpersonal skills.
  • Superb written and oral communication skills, specifically with the ability to succinctly and convincingly educate, engage and reach consensus on finance and operational functions/activities.
  • Experience in supervision/management of a team.

Preferred:

  • CPA license.
  • In depth knowledge of GAAP and SOX 404 compliance.
  • SEC Reporting experience.
