Our client is a resort developer doing residential construction in multiple markets as well as commercial construction and land development. They are looking for an Accounting Manager for their Inlet Beach, FL location.

Salary Range: $80-90k + (flexible/based on experience) + 100% COMPANY PAID INSURANCE for employees and dependents.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting operations of multiple companies. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and team cooperation. It plays a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and efficient and accurate financial processes. In this role you will collaborate closely with the accounting/finance team, project managers, and senior leadership to provide timely and relevant financial insights and support the company's overall financial strategy.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, but an Associate’s degree may suffice with proper additional experience.
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2-3 years of higher-level accounting experience with monthly/annual closings.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and related accounting practices is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and ERP systems is a plus. High level Excel user.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare and present timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and (if needed) cash flow statements.
    • Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making by senior management.
    • Create entries to close jobs including accruals for open job costs.
    • Create and maintain monthly/quarterly/annual WIP, Over/Under, and Percentage of Completion reports that support the financial statements and general ledger entries.
    • Understand the “big picture” operations and financials of each company in order to recognize variances.
    • Monitor key financial metrics and performance indicators to assess the company's financial health and identify areas for improvement.
  • Budgeting and Job Costing:
    • Collaborate with CFO and project managers to develop and update project budgets.
    • Collaborate with CFO to develop and update annual financial budgets.
    • Monitor budget performance and conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and areas of concern.
  • General Ledger, Job/Project and Financial Records:
    • Oversee the general ledger system and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
    • Oversee the Job/Project numbering and cost code numbering and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
    • Maintain complete and organized financial records and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
    • Maintain orderly filing (both electronic using efficient labeling protocols as well as paper filing) in order to expeditiously find information.
  • Tax Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings in compliance with relevant local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
    • Work with external tax advisors as needed to address tax matters.
  • Financial Controls and Internal Audits:
    • Establish and maintain robust internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
    • Coordinate internal and external audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Cash Management:
    • Maintain Cash and draw spreadsheets.
    • Maintain ACH Fraud control and Positive Pay controls on bank accounts.
    • Record and monitor loan draws and payments
